For the past three years we have created novice competitions which have had a welcoming and inviting environment for beginner strength athletes to compete in while creating a platform for advanced lifters to test themselves before moving to a federation level comp.

With ample parking and toilet facilities along with food and coffee available The Bar Brisbane is the perfect setup to experience a first class competition without the pressure of a sanctioned meet.

General Rules.
1. This competition is open to novice competitors who haven't won any prior meets or competed at a national level in Strongman.

(We welcome guest lifters who want to use our event to practice)


2. You must wear a T-shirt for all events except a singlet is fine for deadlifts. Overly baggy clothing isn't acceptable (Track suit pants etc). You need to either have full length tights or long socks (that reach the knee cap) for deadlifts.


3. Knee Sleeves, knee wraps, wrist wraps and belts are permitted no straps for deadlifts.

A full break down of rules and exceptions will be sent out prior to the meet.

  1. 15M Medley (Yoke, Farmers, Sled and Sand Bag for time) Fastest time wins. Farmer weight is per hand.

  2. Log Press (Reps for time) Most reps in 90 seconds wins. Log goes back to tyre each rep.

  3. Silver $ Deadlift (1RM) Rising Bar with 3 attempts, bar rises in 10kg jumps. Bar is 45cm off the floor. No Straps.

  4. Atlas Stone/ Sandbag Load (reps for time) No Tacky! Platform is 121cms high.

  5. Static Medley (Monster DB, Axel Clean + Press and Trap Bar for time) 90 second time limit most reps on Trap Bar wins. The Trap Bar is a Rogue bar with the high handles.

Depending on participation numbers we will run a split events as above otherwise we will run the events as per the mens list.

Loads are subject to change and will be finalised at latest 4 weeks before the competition.

Prizes will only be awarded for the winners of the weight class divisions.
