For the past five years we have created novice competitions which have had a welcoming and inviting environment for beginner strength athletes to compete in while creating a platform for advanced lifters to test themselves before moving to a federation level comp.

With ample parking and toilet facilitates The Bar Brisbane is the perfect setup to experience a first class competition without the pressure of a sanctioned meet.

General Rules.
1. This competition is open to novice competitors who haven't won any prior meets or competed at a national level in Strongman.

(We welcome guest lifters who want to use our event to practice)


2. You must wear a T-shirt for all events except a singlet is fine for deadlifts. Overly baggy clothing isn't acceptable (Track suit pants etc). You need to either have full length tights or long socks (that reach the knee cap) for deadlifts.


3. Knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, knee wraps, wrist straps and belts are permitted however some event limit the use of wrist straps.

A full break down of rules and exceptions will be sent out prior to the meet.

Male

  1. Medley (15 Meters) Sandbag, Duck Walk, Farmers, Sled Drag. Timed. Farmers weight is each handle.

  2. Monster DB 3 rep max Athlete chooses weight must do 3 reps in 45 seconds. Two attempts, you can choose to go heavier in your second attempt. You can only press with one arm however you can use different arms to achieve all three reps.

  3. Kettle Bell Hammer Hold  Hips and shoulders must stay on the wall with feet no more than 30cm out from the wall. If the arm drops below 90 degrees you're eliminated.

  4. Static Medley  Two axle bars from floor to overhead and two reps of an atlas stone to shoulder (one rep to each shoulder).

  5. Silver Dollar Deadlift One rep max, 3 attempts in a flight powerlifting style. Lapping, hitching all legal however straps will not be allowed. Bar must not be dropped after the down command.

Depending on participation numbers we will run a split events as above otherwise we will run the events as per the mens list.

Loads are subject to change and will be finalised at latest 4 weeks before the competition.
